What is the Gerson Lehrman Group Councils? |

The Gerson Lehrman Group Councils are
industry-focused networks of executives, physicians, scientists,
engineers, attorneys, market researchers and other professionals
from around the world. Members of the GLG Councils are compensated
for consulting with global business and investment leaders on topics
within their area of expertise. Council Members provide their
industry-specific knowledge through telephone consultations, online
surveys and in-person meetings. All projects are scheduled at the
convenience of the Council Member and generally last about an
hour. |

managers, engineers, scientists, market researchers, executives,
attorneys, accountants, regulators, consultants, distributors, store
owners, and various buyers and sellers of products and services.
Council Members are seasoned conference speakers, leaders in
academia and other notable experts. Council Members have first-hand
knowledge of the decision-making process and competitive dynamics
that ultimately determine the fortunes of companies and
industries. |

Who manages the Gerson Lehrman Group Councils? |

The Gerson Lehrman Group Councils are
managed by Gerson Lehrman Group, an independent primary research
firm serving business and investment leaders in North America, Asia
and Europe. Gerson Lehrman Group founded the GLG Councils in 1999 as
a way to provide investment professionals with the information they
were missing to make fully informed investment decisions – primary
industry intelligence from a variety of sources, instead of a select
few. The Gerson Lehrman Group Councils are now a key research tool
used by many of the world's leading business
decision-makers. |

informed on various industry topics. Discussions with Council
Members provide them with continuing education on their research

Gerson Lehrman Group employs Council
Managers who conduct extensive research in order to identify
industry-experts throughout the world. Gerson Lehrman Group also
works with industry associations, media properties and executive
recruiters on recruiting initiatives. |

How are consultations conducted? |
| A |
Consultations are generally conducted by
telephone. Council Members may also be invited to participate in
online surveys and in-person meetings, all coordinated by Gerson
Lehrman Group and scheduled at the Council Members
convenience. |

How am I paid? |
| A |
When you apply, you are asked to enter what
you feel is a fair hourly rate for your time. Council Members should
consider their position, experience, scarcity of others with similar
knowledge, etc. If you do not know what rate to choose, a Council
Manager can help guide you. After completing a telephone
consultation, Members log in to www.glgcouncils.com to invoice
Gerson Lehrman Group. Payment is prompt – usually within seven to ten days, once verified.
Payments for surveys and in-person meetings are sent automatically
once those projects are completed. |

I'm busy. How am I supposed to find the time for
this? |
| A |
Gerson Lehrman Group respects the busy
schedules of its Council Members. Council Members will only be
contacted when their background matches a GLG client query, and may
accept or decline an invitation to consult for any or no reason.
There is never an obligation to consult and no minimum time
commitment required. |

What is expected of me as a Council Member? |
| A |
Council Members are expected to accept or
decline a consultation within 48 hours of receiving the invitation.
Council Members should schedule such consultations within five
business days. Gerson Lehrman Group expects Council Members to keep
all scheduled consultations with clients. Council Members are only
expected to address topics they are comfortable with and permitted
to discuss. Members must also honor any agreements or obligations

What topics will I be expected to discuss during a
consultation? |

Gerson Lehrman Group clients are typically
interested in either broad discussions about a general industry, or
more detailed information about a particular product, service or
trend. Council Members are not asked to comment on their company or
employer; rather, they are invited to discuss general industry
trends or specific products and services within their area of
expertise. Council Members may only accept consultations on topics
they are comfortable with and permitted to discuss. We expect our
Council Members to disclose any actual or perceived conflicts of
interest and to decline projects if such conflicts exist. (Please

I'm concerned about conflicts of interest. How are these
handled? |

Council Members are expected to decline
invitations they feel may represent a conflict of interest and
should only discuss topics they are comfortable with and permitted
to discuss. In addition, Council Members are expected to comply with

Are consultations and surveys confidential? |
| A |
Yes. Council Members must keep the subject
and content of all consultations and surveys confidential. All
information provided during consultations is only disclosed to
clients. Survey responses are similarly disseminated only to
clients. Gerson Lehrman Group keeps Council Member participation
confidential and clients are asked to keep all information provided
to them confidential. |

What if I am not currently living in the US? |
| A |
If you live outside the US you can still be
a Council Member. Council Members and clients are located throughout
the world. Projects occur across the globe and are always scheduled
at the Member’s convenience. |

What if I am not fluent in English? |
| A |
Individuals can still join the Gerson
Lehrman Group Councils if they are not fluent in English, as long as
they have a working knowledge of the English language. If a Council
Member is not comfortable participating in telephone consultations
in English, he/she may participate in online surveys, which are
written in English. The average survey can be completed in 10-15
minutes and can be accessed 24 hours a day. |
